How We Travel
You aren’t a batch travel product
We aren’t looking to package you up and spit you out onto an endless conveyor belt of trips. We care about the places we visit and the people we bring, so the number of trips to each destination is limited, and we only visit at the best times of year for a particular destination. Think of karibu as a boutique offering - without the gold-plated pricing.
We offer small group trips of 6-12 people. We can organize a private trip to one of our destinations with a group of friends, family or colleagues, or you can join one of our departures. We welcome couples, families, friends and solo travelers. Smaller groups can also be accommodated. For private group trips please contact us.
Ultimately, our mission is to share some of the world’s most amazing wild places, and keep them that way.
Our non-negotiables
Unique and high value nature and wildlife
Active exploration
Rich cultural connection
High quality but not exclusive
What you see is what you get
We aren’t just a pretty website that resells trips packaged by multiple middlemen, with little or no connection to the destinations we offer. We research, design, visit and vet the kind of unique trip our customers seek, but may not have the time to carefully curate. And we look to source every component as directly as possible to enhance transparency and accountability, and reduce costs for our customers.
Our Guides
Everyone one of our guides is carefully chosen, highly accredited, local experts who love what they do and have been doing it for years. We know how important it is to have a good guide who can share those special insights, dig below surface and create those special connections that make each experience unique. For more information about our guides, sign up for our newsletter or contact us.

(Or at least we try not to be.)
Our travelers are looking for the raw and the real. You are curious and engaged, and are in search of that elusive feeling of wonderment. The real beauty, for you, is in that collision with something wild and beautiful and new.
We are not Tourists
You may be a nature or wildlife, or active travel enthusiast. Or not. You may have been to 60 countries or two. You may believe that showing your children the world is one of the most important things you can do as a parent. Or you may just love the stories you can tell of the places you’ve seen and the people you’ve met.
Every one of you though, believes that travel should do no harm, and if you can make a contribution to a more balanced, fairer and healthier planet, well, that’s amazing.
