Trip of a lifetime! Everything about this trip exceeded our expectations. The hikes were challenging and every step was rewarded with a breathtaking view. The accommodation, vistas, food, wonderful guides and fellow travelers made this an exceptional experience. This is a rare opportunity to experience a beautiful, undiscovered place. Great views, great exercise. An all round wonderful experience. I expected some great views on this trip. I didn’t expect that there would be a spectacular view around every corner. Added to that was an introduction to a history and a unique and interesting culture I never knew existed. The hiking was just strenuous enough that, at the end of the day I felt I’d had enough and deserved a beer. The next morning, I couldn’t wait to get back on the trails. Our guide, Arturo, was terrific and knowledgeable and added an extra level of enjoyment to the whole exercise. I highly recommend this adventure.

Great staffing, tripping... and gelato Wonderful trip to this little known part of northern Italy--the architecture and the ever-changing landscapes were amazing. The guide was friendly, very knowledgable, and helpful in so many ways. Accommodations were spacious and comfortable. Alagna enriches your soul!! Outstanding trip discovering paradise on earth!!! The sound of cow bells, bubbling streams and waterfalls are some of the lasting memories from this trip and the scenery was spell binding. You feel like you are stepping back in time where nature is untouched and majestic. Honestly one of my best vacations ever and I am well travelled!Our tour guide Arturo was knowledgeable and patient given our group ranged in age from early 20’s to early 70’s. The hiking “up” was more challenging than I anticipated but so worth the hard work when the flowering meadows opened up to panoramic views of the mountains. Photos don’t do it justice.The hotel was wonderful…all the amenities one needed and was our home away from home for the week. Authentic. Our trip arranged by Karibu to Algana Valsessia, Italy was perfect! Well organized, wonderful and helpful guide, beautiful scenery and just enough of a challenge hiking. comfortable accomodations and super food experiences (including raclette). The dynamics of the group were fun and interesting ranging from a family (with 20 something year olds) to a couple of seniors. This felt a bit off of the beaten track of the rest of touristy Europe which is exactly what we wanted. Hiking amoungst cows, cheese makers, refugios, in the clouds and in the sun. 10/10 Hiking Adventure in the Italian Alps My trip with Karibu to Alta Valsesia went above and beyond my expectations! I loved how thoughtfully curated this hiking adventure was laid out. From the views, to the amazing group and the food - it was excellent. I would highly recommend this experience for the person and families who love hiking and really want to be off the beaten track. Amazing Hiking Trip We had a wonderful trip hiking in Alagna and vicinity with Karibu Adventures. The trip was well organized, the guides were very well informed and fun, the accommodation was perfect too. We made some wonderful friends and learned a lot about Valsesia and its culture. The hiking was challenging but certainly doable, and the views were spectacular. The food was plentiful and delicious. The hills are alive with the sound of vistas! As karibu did when we went on their Vancouver Island kayak trip last year, their hiking trip in the Alta Valsesia this year was more than we bargained for, in the best possible way. This time, we thought we’d get some vigorous mountain hikes in, in an out-of-the-way part of the Alps. We got that for sure, with some of the most achingly beautiful views on earth. But we also got an injection of “Walser” mountain culture, architecture, history and food. While we’re happy to tell the world about this magical place, our only fear is that other people will want to explore it and it won’t be a secret any more. Stunning scenery on epic hikes! A hidden gem in the Italian Alps! What an amazing place to explore and unwind! Away from the busy world is this hidden gem in the Italian Alps! The hikes were the perfect balance of challenge and reward. Our guides Andrea and Arturo took us up and up from the storybook village of Alagna each day to explore the hanging valleys (amazing geology and geography). Each hike was unique - Val d'Ortro where you summit into an euphony of cowbells and an ancient village, Aple Bors and Fondecco above the treeline nestled under the Monte Rosa massif, and Alpe Campe with ancient stone huts and epic views back across all the other valleys. Every day the paths took us through ancient hamlets of picturesque Walser chalets set in stunning backdrops of towering mountain ranges. Awaiting us each day (up on the mountains and back down in town) was amazing local food in charming little restaurants with friendly hosts. Unbelievable cheese (especially the Toma raclette)!! Highly recommended. Karibu delivers!
